Letter height is based on all the characters in a font including descending characters such as g, j, p, q and y.
Boat Registration Numbers: Please enter 4" in the letter height box. This will give you 3" Capital Letters and Numbers which are required by Federal Regulations. A block style letter in a color contrasting with the background and a full space between the letters and numbers are also required.
